Regarding Snow Leopard and FileMaker Server 10, I am aware of only one issue regarding the installation of the server software from a CD. Here is what FileMaker knowledge base says:========= FileMaker Server 10.0v2 and FileMaker Server 10.0v2 Advanced requires a full installation from either the CD or Software Download file. Do not install FileMaker Server 10.0v1 and update to FileMaker Server 10.0v2 on this operating system as supporting files are not installed correctly. In addition, if you previously updated to FileMaker Server 10.0v2 on Leopard and update the OS to Mac OS X v10.6 Snow Leopard, the server will not function. You must do a full un-installation of FileMaker Server 10.0v2, and then a full reinstall on Mac OS X v10.6 Snow Leopard. ========= To view the complete article, click here to view the website. As for Windows Version 7, here's the latest news: the FileMaker website claims compatibility with Windows 7 for both FileMaker Pro 10 and FileMaker Pro 10 Advanced. There are a couple of issues, however. FileMaker says that the list control may get garbled when scrolling and opened file names are not added to the Recent list. There has been no official testing of Windows 7 with older versions of FileMaker, and the FileMaker website warns that earlier versions may encounter stability issues, even if they seem to install and run properly. Their recommendation is to purchase the latest version of FileMaker. Check out the FileMaker informational page by clicking here. |
